The Application of 3D Data Collection and Compilation in Sculpture (Excerpts)

The concept of reverse engineering of computer has been reflected in a wide range of areas, the combination of its open platform with expertise extends professional skills which has played an invaluable role in the in-depth research and national economic construction. To this end, we adopt the principle that the technological innovation serves art and the way of reverse thinking, initially established our research steps. Generally, it is to make full use of the existing three-dimensional scanning technologies and make integration, then transplanting the technology into original three-dimensional data collection process, in order to make it more efficiently and accurately. Furthermore, with the theoretical guidance of perspective science and perspective correction, and with reverse engineering of computer, we can develop application software with function of automatic calculation process and correction, and put differences that likely to occur in the virtual space, as a result, many regrets can be avoided through the intervention of prediction and correction, at the same time, utilizing the corrected three-dimensional data to instruct terminal equipment and complete the three-dimensional physical modeling by various media. The outcome of this subject can be widely applied in architecture design, urban planning, large-scale outdoor sculpture, industrial design and three-dimensional areas related to visual.


The concept of perspective correction needs a prerequisite that is the precise amplification process of digital technology the sculpture based on. The traditional artificial amplification technology cannot satisfy the quantizing process which completely based on creators’ intuition and repeatedly modifying to adjust.


The volume of sculpture varied, so the way we observe it would be different as well as the perspective. Therefore, if we scale up the sculpture to a certain volume, its perspective will change accordingly. But this change of perspective is hardly to foresee in the small version of sculpture when we created it. In order to ensure viewers enjoy a desired result, we need to change the perspective in advance. This subject is to discuss perspective modification methods of the large-scale sculpture creation in this regard, and to provide artists with a visualized and convenient platform.
